Bluebells by Walter de la Mare

I haven’t posted in a while, but I am still practicing Charlotte Mason’s principles with my kids! Her insights continue to amaze me, especially as I support my kids in public school and try to counteract some of the less effective strategies used there. Now that we are “remote schooling” during the COVID-19 crisis, I find myself dreaming of going back to Ambleside Online… We will see what the future holds! In the meantime, here is a spring poem and illustration for you to enjoy!

BLUEBELLS by Walter de la Mare

Where the bluebells and the wind are,
Fairies in a ring I spied,
And I heard a little linnet
Singing near beside.

Where the primrose and the dew are –
Soon were sped the fairies all:
Only now the green turf freshens,
And the linnets call.”
